LAS CRUCES - If you've been thinking about adding a four-legged companion to your household, now might be the perfect time. ACTion Programs for Animals is hosting its annual "Home for the Holidays" adoption event, offering half-off adoption fees through Saturday, Jan. 4.
“The holiday season is a great time to bring home a new furry family member, because people have more time at home before getting back to work after the new year,” said APA’s Executive Director Michel Meunier. “We also offer a sleepover program so people can take an animal home for a week or two before making their final adoption decision.”
The organization has a variety of animals waiting for homes, including cats, kittens, and trained dogs from its P.A.W.S. (Prisoners and Animals Working Toward Success) program.
Prospective adopters can visit the APA Adoption Center, located at 537 N. Solano Dr., during open hours from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Appointments are also available by calling 575-571-4654 or emailing mail@apalascruces.org. The center will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
