AmadorLive Eatery & Entertainment District closes
Downtown Las Cruces venue cites market conditions for decision

LAS CRUCES - The AmadorLive Eatery and Entertainment District, a collection of restaurants and event spaces in downtown Las Cruces, has announced it has closed.
Owner Max Bower shared the news in a video posted to the venue’s Facebook page on Jan. 6, citing difficult market conditions in 2024 as a key factor in the decision. Bower did not specify a final closure date, but the venue's listing in Google Reviews now notes the establishment is "permanently closed."
“2024 was a tough year for a lot of people in town, a tough year for a lot of businesses. Amador was no exception,” Bower said in the video.
The complex, which opened in March 2019, housed four distinct brands: Amador Patio Bar Grill, Broken Spoke Taphouse, JAX and 575. The project was part of a $6.5 million public-private partnership with the City of Las Cruces, which contributed to redeveloping the city's downtown district.
Bower expressed gratitude to customers for their support over the past six years and left open the possibility of reopening in the future.
“If there was a light at the end of the tunnel, we could probably find a way to keep it going,” he stated in the video. “But at this time, the way things are, it’s just something that we are not prepared to do.”
City officials, including Las Cruces Mayor Eric Enriquez, have indicated to other news outlets they understand the importance of moving quickly to fill the void now apparent at the southern gateway to the city's downtown district.
"The city has worked hard to revitalize downtown over the last several years, and so we are always disappointed to see any setbacks to our downtown," Enriquez told KFOX-14's Salina Madrid. "Because downtown has become a popular destination for many residents and visitors, the city will explore all options for the future of the facility with the idea of moving quickly to keep up the momentum of downtown redevelopment."
Bower expressed optimism for the future of the city's downtown district.
"We at (AmadorLive) still believe that a vibrant Downtown Las Cruces is a dream that can still be (achieved) and, who knows ... maybe things will improve and Downtown Las Cruces can be fully realized! Time will tell," Bower stated in the Facebook post.
