SUNLAND PARK - Doña Ana Community College celebrated a milestone with the graduation of its first nursing class from the Sunland Park center. Four students completed the program this fall, with a pinning ceremony held Friday, Dec. 6.

The DACC Nursing program at Sunland Park launched in 2023, offering a pathway for students to become Licensed Practical Nurses or Registered Nurses in approximately 15 months. This first graduating class represents progress in addressing the need for more healthcare professionals in southern Doña Ana County.

“Our vision was to expand access to nursing education in Sunland Park and surrounding areas and to grow the local workforce,” said Ashley Rodriguez, interim Nursing program director.

The program aims to strengthen healthcare services in the community while providing local residents with career opportunities in the nursing field.

Prospective students can learn more about the program by visiting the DACC website or contacting the Sunland Park Nursing program at 575-874-7786.
