LAS CRUCES - In a heartwarming holiday initiative, New Mexico State University Athletics and Ashley Furniture of Las Cruces are teaming up to provide up to 100 beds for children in need through the Hope to Dream program.

“We are proud to be part of a community that can provide this essential support for our children,” said Wanda Bowman, owner and CEO of Ashley Furniture in Las Cruces. “For over 20 years, we’ve seen the profound impact a new bed can have on a child and their family. This work through Hope to Dream is deeply meaningful, and we’re excited to continue it.”

The program invites Aggie fans and community members to contribute by donating $250 to the Aggie Athletic Club, with each donation funding one complete bed set. Each child will receive a mattress, bedspread, sheets, pillows and a swag bag. Donations can be made online, and contributions will be accepted until all 100 beds are funded.

Since its inception in 2010, Hope to Dream has provided more than 140,000 beds to children nationwide, ensuring that kids have a comfortable place to sleep. This year, the initiative will focus on children ages 3-12 from Las Cruces Public Schools.

Special Events to Highlight the Initiative

The official launch of the program will be celebrated on Saturday, Nov. 30, during NM State’s football season finale against UTEP at Aggie Memorial Stadium, with kickoff set for 2 p.m. The program will also be highlighted during the Aggies’ men’s basketball game against Abilene Christian on Wednesday, Dec. 4, with an on-court recognition.
