LAS CRUCES - Residents looking to clear out clutter and yard waste will have a free and convenient opportunity during the Neighborhood Dumpster Day hosted by the Parks and Recreation Department’s Keep Las Cruces Beautiful program. The event takes place Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024, from 8 a.m. to noon.
Open-top trash containers will be available at three locations for community members to dispose of yard waste, household trash and other permissible items:
Tony Gomez Park – 2283 S. Espina Street
Henry R. Benavidez Community Center – 1045 McClure Road
Las Cruces Skatepark – 165 N. Walnut Street
KLCB staff will be on-site to assist residents, provide information about the program and guide users on what items can and cannot be disposed of.
Prohibited items
The following items are not permitted in the dumpsters:
Medical waste
Hot ashes or coals
Tires, vehicle parts or car batteries
Fluorescent light bulbs
Large yard waste (e.g., stumps or trunks)
Concrete, bricks or rocks
Toxic, combustible or hazardous materials
Toilets, sinks or items containing refrigerants (e.g., refrigerators)
Animal carcasses
Residents are responsible for unloading their own items into the dumpsters, which will be monitored by KLCB staff.
