LAS CRUCES - The City of Las Cruces is gearing up for its beloved annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, set to bring holiday cheer to Plaza de Las Cruces on Saturday, Dec. 7. The free, family-friendly event will run from 6 to 8 p.m. at 100 N. Main St.

Highlights of the evening will include live music, festive giveaways, refreshments, food trucks and activities for all ages. Mayor Eric Enriquez will address attendees, sharing reflections on 2024’s milestones before the highly anticipated lighting of the Christmas tree at 7 p.m.

The holiday celebration doesn’t end there. Following the tree lighting, the Rio Grande Theatre will present a screening of the holiday classic “The Muppet Christmas Carol” at 8 p.m. Tickets are $5 per person, with doors opening immediately after the ceremony. The Rio Grande Theatre is located just steps away at 211 N. Main St.
