Oscar winner Helen Hunt to speak at NMSU during Las Cruces International Film Festival

As part of the Las Cruces International Film Festival, Oscar-winning actress Helen Hunt will join NMSU professor Ross Marks for a public conversation about her career on April 10.

The free event on April 10 invites students and the public to hear from the acclaimed actress, director and producer

LAS CRUCES - Academy Award-winning actress Helen Hunt will visit New Mexico State University on Thursday, April 10 to speak with students and members of the public about her decades-long career in film and television.

The event, hosted by NMSU Creative Media Institute professor and Las Cruces International Film Festival executive director Ross Marks, begins at 2 p.m. at the Mark Medoff Theater in the ASNMSU Center for the Arts, 1000 E. University Ave. Admission is free and open to the public.

Hunt, best known for her Oscar-winning performance in As Good As It Gets and her Emmy-winning role in Mad About You, will discuss her experiences as an actress, director, writer and producer. Her recent film work includes I See You and The Night Clerk, and she is currently in production on a film directed by Peter Greenaway and co-starring Dustin Hoffman.

The event is part of the Las Cruces International Film Festival, which runs April 9–13 at Allen Theatres Cineport 10. The festival, presented by NMSU and Visit Las Cruces, features film screenings, celebrity panels and student showcases. Tickets are on sale now at www.lascrucesfilmfest.com, with VIP passes priced at $200, All-Access passes at $100 and single-day passes and celebrity screenings at $35 each.
