LAS CRUCES - Local artists will present their design concepts for a public art installation at La Buena Vida Park during two public meetings on Dec. 10 and Dec. 11 at City Hall, 700 N. Main St., in Conference Room 2007-A.

The presentations, hosted by the Quality of Life/Las Cruces Public Art Selection Committee, begin at 4:30 p.m. each day. The community is encouraged to attend and witness the creative process as artists unveil their site-specific proposals to enhance the park at 3000 Buena Vida Circle, which features a picnic pavilion and walking trails through a natural landscape.

Presentation schedule

Each artist will have 30 minutes to present their concept:

Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2024

  • 4:30 p.m. – Artist 1
  • 5:15 p.m. – Artist 2
  • 6:00 p.m. – Artist 3

Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2024

  • 4:30 p.m. – Artist 4
  • 5:15 p.m. – Artist 5
  • 6:00 p.m. – Artist 6

The selected design will be presented to the City Art Board during its public meeting on Dec. 12 and will later go before the Las Cruces City Council for final approval.
