ALBUQUERQUE - The New Mexico Film Office announced last week that the romantic comedy Love is in the Air is filming in Albuquerque throughout December.

The film follows the story of a free-spirited hot air balloon pilot and a television reporter with a strict, by-the-book approach. The two cross paths against a scenic backdrop, leading to an unexpected romance.

Directed by Larry McLean (Vanished), the feature is produced by Galen Walker (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) and Tamas Nadas (Boneyard). The cast includes Lorenzo Lamas, Gail O’Grady, Paul Green and McKenzie Westmore.

The production employs approximately 40 New Mexico-based crew members, four principal actors from the state and more than 100 local background actors.

New Mexico’s landscapes, including the renowned Balloon Fiesta setting and vast blue skies, serve as a key backdrop for the film. The state continues to attract filmmakers with its variety of locations, skilled workforce and incentives, including a 25% to 40% tax credit for production costs.
