Celebrate the Holidays with New Mexico’s Taste the Tradition Lookbook

LAS CRUCES – This holiday season, the New Mexico Department of Agriculture invites you to give the gift of local culture and tradition with the third edition of the New Mexico Taste the Tradition Holiday Lookbook.

The 34-page online guide, which launched Thanksgiving Day, showcases a wide variety of locally grown and crafted products — perfect for everyone on your holiday list. From sweet indulgences like Krack Korn Puffs to zesty margarita mixes, the lookbook highlights the artistry of New Mexico’s farmers, ranchers and artisans.

In addition to shopping inspiration, the lookbook features exclusive holiday recipes from Taste the Tradition Chef Ambassadors Jon Young and Jordan Isaacson, offering creative ways to infuse New Mexico flavors into your holiday celebrations.

Supporting local businesses

“This year’s lookbook shines a spotlight on the incredible talent of local businesses that are the backbone of New Mexico’s economy,” said New Mexico Secretary of Agriculture Jeff Witte. “Whether you’re shopping for a thoughtful gift or preparing a holiday feast, the guide provides inspiration to make your season magical while supporting our community.”

The guide includes businesses featured in this year’s New Mexico State Fair Country Store, which has proven to boost visibility and sales for small businesses.

Sue Lucero, owner of Riptide Spice House and a participant in the Taste the Tradition program, credits the lookbook for expanding her customer base.

“Programs like this are essential for small businesses like ours,” Lucero said. “We’ve seen a direct increase in sales and are grateful for the opportunity to connect with new customers.”
